From pro basketball to the barber's chair.

Jefes was founded in 2022 by Jerelle Okoro — "Jefe" — a former professional basketball player for the Manchester Giants and London Lions who walked away from the game to build something where nobody felt like a number.

It started in Manchester's Northern Quarter with no money, a lot of front, and a simple belief: a great haircut changes how a man carries himself, and a great barbershop changes a community. During the cost-of-living crisis, Jefe made headlines cutting hair for a fiver so men could still afford to feel like themselves. He once promised a kid a car if he smashed his exams. The kid smashed his exams.

Now Jefes has come to Stockport — same barber, same standards, same rule: you're seen as a person before you're seen as a booking.
